Kamala Harris' Low Approval Ratings: A Matter of Communication Style?

Recent discussions on Fox News' "Outnumbered" have centered around Vice President Kamala Harris' persistently low approval ratings. Contributor Marc Thiessen suggests that a key factor contributing to these ratings is Harris' communication style. He argues that her tendency to speak about commonplace topics in a seemingly overly serious or profound manner can alienate listeners.

Thiessen illustrated his point with examples of Harris' past statements, including a recent remark about transportation. He posited that this style of communication can lead people to perceive her as either out of touch or condescending, ultimately eroding public confidence.

Vice President Kamala Harris

An NBC News poll recently revealed that Harris holds the lowest net-negative rating of any modern vice president in their polling history. Only 32% of registered voters view her favorably, compared to 49% who hold a negative view. This stark contrast results in a net -17 rating, significantly lower than previous vice presidents like Mike Pence, Joe Biden, Dick Cheney, and Al Gore during comparable periods in their tenures.

This poll comes on the heels of renewed criticism directed at Harris following her recent explanation of artificial intelligence, which also drew scrutiny for its clarity and delivery.
