Blake Lively Faces New Defamation Lawsuit Amid Ongoing Legal Battles

Actress Blake Lively is facing a new legal challenge, a defamation lawsuit filed by Jed Wallace and his PR firm, Street Relations Inc. The lawsuit stems from Lively's December complaint against her "It Ends With Us" co-star, Justin Baldoni, where she allegedly named Wallace and his firm in her initial filing with the California Civil Rights Department, though not in the formal lawsuit.

Wallace and Street Relations assert they had no involvement in the alleged sexual harassment and retaliation at the center of Lively's complaint against Baldoni. They emphasize the absence of any contractual relationship with Lively, further negating her claims. The lawsuit alleges Lively's statements, made with "negligence or actual malice," have caused significant reputational and financial damage exceeding $1 million. They are seeking punitive damages of no less than $6 million.

Lively's legal team responded, characterizing the lawsuit as retaliatory and a publicity stunt in response to Lively's sexual harassment and retaliation allegations. They expressed confidence the lawsuit will be dismissed and emphasized their intent to hold Wallace accountable in federal court.

This latest legal action adds another layer to the ongoing legal disputes between Lively and Baldoni. Lively's initial complaint against Baldoni and producer Jamey Heath included allegations of sexual harassment, retaliation, and emotional distress. Baldoni subsequently countersued Lively and her husband, Ryan Reynolds, for $400 million, citing civil extortion and defamation. He also released unedited film footage, which he claims refutes Lively's accusations, while her team argues it supports them.

Following the footage release, Lively's lawyers sought a gag order against Baldoni's attorney, a move Baldoni's team labeled an intimidation tactic. A judge recently instructed both legal teams to adhere to the New York Rules of Professional Conduct regarding communication with the press, limiting statements that could potentially prejudice a jury.
