He expressed concern that such guidance could have serious consequences, potentially even contributing to future crimes. Ocasio-Cortez responded to Homan's criticism, defending the webinar as an educational resource on constitutional rights. She dismissed Homan's concerns and suggested he needed to better understand the Constitution himself. Homan reiterated his stance, emphasizing that current ICE operations prioritize national security and public safety threats by targeting individuals with significant criminal records. He questioned Ocasio-Cortez's motives, suggesting her actions could inadvertently aid those seeking to evade law enforcement. The former ICE chief expressed worry that the information shared in the webinar might embolden individuals who pose a threat to public safety. He referenced past crimes committed by undocumented immigrants, cautioning against the potential for similar incidents in the future. Homan maintained that regardless of Ocasio-Cortez's intentions, the practical effect of the webinar is to obstruct law enforcement efforts.
