Small Plane Crashes into Santa Fe Home, Killing Pilot

A twin-engine aircraft crashed into a residential home in Santa Fe, New Mexico, on Tuesday morning, tragically resulting in the pilot's death. The plane, which had taken off from Santa Fe Municipal Airport around 9 a.m. local time, was en route to Santa Monica, California. Shortly after departure, the pilot reported a left engine failure. The aircraft went down within a minute of the reported mechanical issues, impacting a single-family residence near West Frontage Road and La Luna Road. Fortunately, initial reports from the Santa Fe County Sheriff's Office suggest the house was unoccupied at the time of the crash.
