In preparation for President Trump's second term, two of his key campaign aides are joining forces with Building America's Future (BAF), an influential outside organization. Chris LaCivita, one of Trump's 2024 campaign managers, and Tony Fabrizio, his chief pollster, will serve as senior advisors to BAF. Their objective is to rally public support for the president's MAGA platform.

LaCivita and Fabrizio expressed their enthusiasm for collaborating with BAF, highlighting the group's significant role in promoting Trump's agenda and candidacy during the 2024 election cycle. They aim to guide BAF's efforts to complement and amplify the work of the president's team in advancing his America First policies.

BAF, established in 2018 by Phil Cox and Generra Peck, played a pivotal role in supporting Trump's campaign with a $45 million initiative. The organization has already demonstrated its commitment to continuing its support beyond the election, launching an ad campaign backing Pete Hegseth, Trump's nominee for Secretary of Defense. BAF plans to actively engage the public and foster support for Trump's policy priorities as he embarks on his second term.

As Republicans prepare to utilize the budget reconciliation process to advance key elements of Trump's economic and tax agenda, along with aspects of border security, BAF's role becomes increasingly important. This process requires a simple majority in the Senate, rather than the 60 votes needed to overcome a filibuster. However, securing the support of nearly all Republican senators is crucial, given the party's slim 53-seat majority. Increased public support for Trump's priorities could influence Republican senators to align with these legislative efforts.

While some legislation is anticipated to face challenges due to the filibuster, BAF's efforts to cultivate public support could also exert pressure on Democrats, especially those facing re-election in 2026 in competitive states, to collaborate with their Republican colleagues. Susie Wiles, Trump's other co-campaign manager, has been designated as his White House chief of staff.
