California Woman Arrested After 27 Deceased Horses Found on Properties Near Sacramento

Authorities in San Joaquin County, California, have arrested a woman following the grim discovery of 27 dead horses and several malnourished ones on properties outside of Sacramento. The investigation unfolded in Clements, where search warrants related to an ongoing animal neglect case were executed.

Upon arrival, law enforcement and veterinarians encountered a distressing scene. Numerous horses were found in a state of neglect, with limited access to food and water.
