A tragic incident unfolded in New York City's Central Park on Saturday night, resulting in the death of a dog. During a confrontation between two dog walkers, one dog was fatally stabbed. Police responded to a 911 call around 10:30 p.m. near East 106th Street and East Drive. A 43-year-old woman reported that her dog had been stabbed by an unknown individual after a verbal altercation. The injured dog was immediately taken to a nearby animal clinic but sadly had to be euthanized due to the severity of the wounds.
According to reports, the woman was walking her German shepherd pit bull mix, Eli, accompanied by a 51-year-old man. They were also walking a Chihuahua. The conflict arose when they encountered another individual walking three dogs off-leash. The unleashed dogs reportedly attacked Eli and the Chihuahua. When the woman attempted to intervene, the other dog walker allegedly produced a switchblade and stabbed Eli.
