During a recent address to a joint session of Congress, President Donald Trump surprised a high school senior, Jason Hartley, with the news of his acceptance into the United States Military Academy at West Point. Hartley, whose father, grandfather, and great-grandfather all served in the military, had long dreamed of continuing his family's legacy of service.

President Trump highlighted Hartley's impressive achievements, including being a six-letter varsity athlete and maintaining a 4.46 GPA, before revealing the exciting news. The announcement was met with applause from those in attendance.

In a heartwarming moment following the announcement, 13-year-old D.J. Daniel, an honorary Secret Service agent and cancer survivor, congratulated Hartley with a high five. Daniel had also been recognized by the President during the address.

Hartley and Daniel were among several individuals honored by President Trump during his speech.
